NONI, ALUMNI DEPARTMENT OF P. ADP REPRESENTING GRADUATES DURING THE GRADUATION OF FE UNY GRADUATION SPEECH

A total of more than 250 attendees packed the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics (FE) UNY in the November 2015 Graduation Release Ceremony, last Friday (27/11). Aside from being a farewell event the day before graduation between students and the faculty where they study, this event is also the last meeting between parents/guardians of prospective graduates and educators/educational staff at the faculty. Present on the occasion were all ranks of deans and heads of departments/study programs within FE UNY.

In this November 2015 graduation period, FE UNY graduated 139 students. The highest number of graduates is from the Management Study Program as many as 45 people. The highest GPA this period was Lia Indriani from the Economics Education Study Program with an index of 3.72.

Representing the graduates, Noni Suci Aristyani from the Office Administration Education Study Program advised alumni to continue to contribute to society. “No matter how busy you are at work, keep working in the community. Society needs us. There are many organizations in society where we can be more useful and hone our potential. The best people are those who benefit others," said Noni quoting the message of the Prophet Muhammad.

In line with that, the Dean of FE UNY Dr Sugiharsono, M.Si also encouraged alumni to succeed in continuing their careers. “Be a human being whose presence is always needed wherever you are. We look forward to your success and return to FE UNY with your contribution,” said Sugiharsono.

H. Marjuni as the representative of the parents also advised the alumni to maintain the integrity of the country. “Give your best contribution so that Indonesia can become a great and virtuous nation. Keep in touch with the faculty and fellow FE UNY graduates. Take care of the unity and integrity of the nation wherever you are placed to work," he said.

On this occasion, awards were also given to active students who made achievements during the months of September to November. Among these achievements was the silver medal in the Presentation category at the XVIII National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) at Halu Oleo University, Kendari last October. In addition, a special award was also given to Arizqi Nurhamsyah, a prospective graduate who was named the Best Activist of the FE UNY Student Organization for the 2011-2015 period. The award was given by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Siswanto, M.Pd.

“Perhaps knowing that I was almost done serving as Vice Dean III, the students seemed to be competing to give their best. During this period, as many as 19 people succeeded in obtaining achievements in ten regional and national level events, and this is the highest record in a three-month period,” said Siswanto, who was greeted with applause from the audience.
